  • What do you hope for your students to achieve in Globaloria this year?‎ Increased confidence, a sense of pride in accomplishment, and new skills that can be of value to them in the future

Please discuss your personal teaching philosophy: Our most important responsibility is to prepare our students for citizenship. Based on that belief, I've laid out my thoughts in three important areas: Skill: I believe that it is essential that students learn to think and express themselves clearly and reasonably, and learn to engage in civil exchange of ideas. Content: I think a basic knowledge of important ideas and events that have shaped our country is necessary for our students to carry on the legacy of our democracy, and to provide the wisdom necessary for leadership. Methodology: I believe the cornerstone of good teaching is providing opportunities for students to actively engage with the curriculum and with one another; otherwise, the material will have little relevance to them, and they will not learn important skills. Student centered, project based learning is thus a critical component of planning.
